Spring graduation 2018

Hi! We’re Student Affairs. Let’s be friends.

Our goal is to authentically showcase the VT student experience, which is why our accounts are mostly student-run. Tag us so we can stay in touch and don’t be shy! We’re a pretty chatty bunch.

Guidelines and Tips: Wait, there are rules?

We’ve got a reputation to uphold, y’all. If you’re taking over our Snapchat, you’ll want to read through our guidelines. And if you’re engaging with us anywhere on social media, we ask that you review the Virginia Tech Principles of Community, which are our gauge for positive discourse, both on and offline.

We review all comments made on our social media channels. We reserve the right to hide or remove comments that are inappropriate, offensive, or insulting, as well as comments that contain illegal suggestions, use foul language, or contain unauthorized commercial solicitation. We reserve the right to terminate access to the page by repeat offenders.

Need hashtag help?

Whether posting on your personal accounts or taking over ours, using hashtags can help us stay connected. Here at Student Affairs, we talk about life at VT through the lens of our Aspirations for Student Learning.

If your organization uses a hashtag to identify itself or to promote certain events, let us know! Simply email us, message us on Instagram or Facebook, or leave a comment on a related post.

It’s important to stay informed during an emergency, and we want our community to stay safe. We may repost or share an official announcement from one of the above accounts, but we won’t post any unique information of our own.

Virginia Tech Student Affairs occasionally has social media-based giveaways, which may be hosted on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, or Twitter, and promoted across the other channels. A deadline to enter the giveaway will be indicated in the caption of the giveaway post. An initial winner from the pool of eligible entrants will be selected by random draw after the giveaway deadline and personally notified via direct message on social media. The initial winner will have 24 hours to respond to Virginia Tech Student Affairs via email to claim their prize. If the initial winner does not respond within 24 hours of being notified, an alternate winner from the pool of eligible entrants will be selected.
