Anthony Scott

Anthony Scott serves as Chief Inclusion & Belonging Officer. In this role, Anthony will serve Virginia Tech students and his colleagues in Student Affairs to further understand the impediments surrounding difference by providing information, programs, and opportunities for collaboration throughout the university. He will develop a divisional strategy for strengthening efforts to engage students in programs, conversations, and experiences that develop cultural competency, foster inclusion, build bridges of understanding, and teach effective advocacy.

Anthony is from Chicago, where he enlisted in the US Army. He served 11 years in the military and participated in deployments to Panama, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Haiti. After his honorable discharge, he completed his undergraduate degree and began his career in higher education at Indiana University, where he served as Multicultural Marketing Strategist and Associate Director of the Hudson and Holland Scholars Program. Anthony graduated from Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law and believes that historical and cultural education are two fundamental influencers to solving problems that plague our society. His areas of expertise include inclusion and diversity, Title IX, conduct support, and student advocacy.

Anthony is an avid motorcyclist and has ridden to all 49 contiguous states, Mexico, and eight provinces of Canada.
