No-cost Menstrual Products Dispensers
No-cost menstrual products are available in several bathroom facilities around campus!
The Undergraduate Student Senate, Hokie Wellness, Women’s Center, Period Club, and Student Affairs are working together to provide no-cost menstrual product dispensers for students and visitors. The Student Affairs Facilities and Operations team installed 41 dispensers across residence halls, dining centers, and student centers to support students and guests visiting Virginia Tech. Products are available to all VT employees, students, and visitors to campus.

Increasing Accessibility to Higher Education
Did you know, according to Aunt Flow,
- 86% of women have started their period in public without access to the products they need,
- Offering free menstrual products increases school attendance amongst girls by 2.4%,
- And 1 in 10 college students in the United States experience period poverty, meaning the lack of access to period products when they need them?
This project is part of our mission to enhance the student experience by creating a well-maintained, clean, and welcoming environment for all. By offering menstrual products, we are proudly joining the period product movement and breaking down one more barrier to higher education.
For more information on why providing free period products is so important to the well-being and success of our Hokies, and all students, check out these additional resources:
