Get ready to learn how to be a Hokie!

Orientation at Virginia Tech is a hybrid program that combines virtual experiences and in-person events for new Hokies to engage in a variety of ways. Virtual orientation helps new Hokies learn about academics, support services, policies, and next steps in their transition to Virginia Tech. Check out our virtual orientation schedules below. We can't wait to meet you!

Virtual Orientation is only required for (and limited to) new undergraduate students. Graduate students, please contact the Graduate School for more details. Families, please see the instructions below.

Orientation Modules: All incoming first-year, transfer, and international students attending Virginia Tech in the Fall must complete the required virtual orientation. After you pay your matriculation fee, check your VT email for registration information. Virtual orientation will be open from May 1–July 31.

  • How to support their student
  • University resources
  • Policies and procedures

Begin your virtual orientation and select "Family Member".

(If you are a family member who has a Virginia Tech PID/Password, we ask that you refrain from using this to log in. Please log in under “Family Member” and not as a student.)

If you are a current Virginia Tech Faculty/Staff member and wish to view orientation, please email orientation@vt.edu to gain access.
